Virtual Enterprise Collaboration Hub (VEC-Hub)

“A large part of the problem can be attributed to the fact that information has all too frequently been regarded as something that needs to be distributed instead of something that needs to be collected and shared. Information sharing is a key concept and the same thing applies to the services that make it possible.”

What is the VEC-Hub?

The Virtual Enterprise Collaboration Hub (VEC-Hub) is a concept of a framework that supports inter-company collaboration in virtual enterprises. The VEC-Hub makes use of a service oriented architecture (SOA) to enable companies to use proprietary tools of their choice during the collaboration in the virtual enterprise, which is a constellation of companies that collaborate without an original equipment manufacturer (OEM) deciding the terms of the collaboration. The VEC-Hub is one of six integrated technical work packages that form the Advanced Capabilities part of VIVACE.
